Promethean has named longtime ensemble member Jared Dennis as Artistic Director. Following a two-year stretch during which PTE experimented with a committee organization model, this initiative is expected to position the company to resume its place in the Chicago storefront theatre scene.
Jared follows in the footsteps of previous PTE Artistic Directors and founding ensemble members Nicole Hand, who relocated to Denver last year; Brian Pastor, who takes over the reins at City Lit Theatre this season; Beth Wolf, who has served as the Producing Artistic Director at Chicago’s Midsommer Flight for many years; and Stephen Murray, who served from the company’s inception until 2009.
Since its founding in the fall of 2005, the theatre artists that form the Promethean Theatre Ensemble have worked toward the goal of creating productions that emphasize rich, vivid language and imaginative storytelling. In order to bridge theatre with real-world efforts to address challenges within the community, we will continue to select a service organization to support and promote with each production.
